Vietnam is moving to regulate cryptocurrency exchanges in response to rising scams and increasing investor demand. The government plans to launch five licensed digital asset exchanges to improve transparency, security, and business capital-raising opportunities. This follows major fraud cases, including a $2 billion Ponzi scheme involving Paynet Coin. The Ministry of Finance is drafting a decree to pilot digital asset transactions, while the Law on Digital Technology Industry, effective January 2026, will legalize digital assets and establish a formal regulatory framework. These measures aim to protect investors, foster trust, and build a secure, compliant digital finance ecosystem in Vietnam.
