US authorities have seized a fraudulent crypto-trading website linked to a scam compound in Burma’s Tai Chang region. The site used fake dashboards, fabricated profits and mobile apps to trick victims into believing they were investing in real crypto markets. The crackdown is part of a wider U.S. effort targeting Southeast Asian scam networks tied to organized crime and human trafficking. The DOJ worked with Google, Apple and Meta to remove related apps and thousands of social accounts. The operation aims to disrupt global crypto-investment fraud networks that stole billions from victims worldwide.
