A 28-year-old techie from Mancherial working in Bengaluru lost ₹87.6 lakh in a crypto scam after meeting a woman named “Nanditha Reddy” on Bharat Matrimony. Claiming to be in Malaysia and skilled in trading, she lured him into investing through a fake platform. Initially, he withdrew ₹2 lakh, which built trust. Later, between February and June, he transferred over ₹87 lakh, including investments and fake charges. Attempts to withdraw larger sums failed, raising suspicion. Telangana Cyber Security Bureau traced some funds to OKX exchange, recovering ₹2.38 lakh. Investigations continue, highlighting rising romance-cum-crypto scams targeting matrimonial platforms.
