Scammers have created a fraudulent website promoting a fake cryptocurrency called “Google Coin” and embedded a custom chatbot that impersonates Google’s Gemini AI assistant to lure victims. The bot uses polished branding and scripted responses to mimic an official AI helper, answer investment questions, project unrealistic returns, and coax visitors into sending irreversible crypto payments to wallets controlled by attackers. Google does not have a cryptocurrency, and the scam site even falsely displays major company logos to appear legitimate. This type of AI-powered social engineering shows how fraudsters are leveraging chatbots to scale scam operations and engage hundreds of potential victims simultaneously.
