A Patna resident lost ₹6.92 lakh after being duped in a fraudulent cryptocurrency trading scheme, police said, underscoring the rising threat of online investment scams. The victim was allegedly approached by cybercriminals posing as investment advisors who promised high returns through crypto trading. After transferring the money in multiple transactions, he realized he had been cheated. In separate incidents, seven other individuals in the city also fell prey to various cyber frauds, including OTP and impersonation scams.
