Prediction market platform Kalshi has banned a U.S. politician for violating its insider trading rules after he placed a bet on his own election prospects. The individual, reportedly former California gubernatorial candidate Kyle Langford, was suspended for five years and fined about $2,000. Kalshi said the case was referred to the Commodity Futures Trading Commission. Separately, a staffer linked to MrBeast was also penalized for trading on non-public information.
