Forbes Released New Crypto Billionaires List With New 7 Newcomers
- Recently, Forbes has updated its Crypto billionaires with the increased number of individuals who have made vast fortunes in digital assets.
- Currently, the Crypto Elite list has 19 billionaires with seven newcomers, which expands the list by 58%. On 5th April, the publication released its latest Crypto richest, but the king of the crop remains unchanged.
- The list puts Binance CEO and founder Changpeng “CZ” Zhao as the ll the richest man in the industry and the 19th richest in the world. The list downgraded CZ’s wealth from $96 billion last year to the current $65 billion. However, it still makes him the richest person in the Crypto industry.
- Sam Bankman-Fried, the founder and CEO of FTX secured the second position with a whopping $24 billion in estimated net worth. He has been called the “Crypto Robin Hood” due to his repetitive statement that he wants to give the majority of this fortune away.
- The third place is occupied by Coinbase CEO and founder Brian Armstrong with $6.6 billion. Other positions are secured by Ripple’s Chris Larsen and the Winklevoss twins from Gemini with around $4 billion.
- Some of the newcomers in the Crypto billionaires list are FTX co-founder and chief technology officer Gary Wang with a net worth of $5.6 billion, and Nikil Viswanathan and Joseph Lau, co-founders of the blockchain and Web3 company Alchemy. Both have a net worth of $2.4 billion each, securing the eleventh spot.
The leading NFT marketplace OpenSea co-founders Devin Finzer and Alex Atallah are also newcomers on this year’s crypto-rich list with an estimated net worth of $2.2 billion apiece.
The founder of South Korea’s Upbit exchange, Song Chi-Hyung is also on the list. Kim Hyoung-Nyon, the executive vice president of South Korea’s Dunamu is also a newcomer on the list, with a net worth of $1.9 billion.
Michael Saylor has remained a Crypto billionaire with an estimated net worth of $1.6 billion. MicroStrategy has pilled up Bitcoin to its balance sheet.
Back in 2018, Forbes published its first Crypto Elite list when just a handful of executives made it to the list. During that time the bar was much lower with a wealth figure of $350 million to get on the list.
