Crypto Market Cap Shed $60 Billion In a Day
Yesterday, there was a slight price pump in Bitcoin but later it slumped below $19,000 to mark a multi-week low.
Not only Bitcoin, many altcoins which registered impressive increases yesterday, are deep in the red today. The second largest crypto, Ethereum erased all the recent gains.
Since, the last week of August when bitcoin dropped below $20,000, the asset had remained relatively quiet, with a few attempts to reclaim the mark also remains unsuccessful.
Yesterday, Bitcoin reached $20,300 but it failed there and quickly returned beneath it. It even got worst the BTC plunged by over $1,000 in 18 hours. It resulted in a six-week drop of $18,500.
Although it has added a few hundred dollars since then, still BTC struggles below $19,000. Bitcoin market capitalization has plummeted to $360 billion, while its dominance over alternative coins stands at 38.2%.
Simultaneously, most of the altcoins were in green yesterday. In the last 24 hours, the situation changed drastically. ETH lost its value by 9% and struggled to remain above $1,500.
Ethereum Classic was one of the massive gainers yesterday but now it is down by 16% on a 24-hour scale to $34. Other top altcoins such as Binance Coin, Ripple, Cardano, Solana, Polkadot, Dogecoin, Shiba Inu, and MATIC are also deep in the red now.
As a result, the market cap of Cryptocurrency has seen $60 billion gone in a day, and the metric is down to $940 billion.
