BlackRock Plans To Launch Crypto Trading Services

As per the new report, BlackRock, the world’s largest asset manager, is planning to double down on its Cryptocurrency engagement by launching trading services. The news came after a year when the company traded Bitcoin and reported owning stocks of BTC mining companies.

Sources familiar with the matter informed that BlackRock aims to enter the Crypto space with “client support trading and then their own credit facility.”

It will enable investors to borrow from the asset manager by providing Cryptocurrencies as collateral.

Additionally, the public pension organizations, endowments, and sovereign wealth funds will have the option to trade Cryptocurrencies through BlackRock’s integrated investment management platform – Aladdin (Asset, Liability, Debt, and Derivative Investment Network.)

Last year, the NYC-based behemoth with over $10 trillion in AUM tested the Crypto industry by making a profitable short-term Bitcoin trade via Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME).

Thereafter the reports came that state the firm owned nearly $400 million worth of shares of Bitcoin mining companies.

Simultaneously, the executives of the organisation, such as CEO Larry Fink and CIO Rick Rieder, praised Bitcoin and some altcoins. The CEO even believes that Bitcoin could become a great asset class and a threat to the US dollar, but it still has to prove itself.
